Happy Easter

Here are more pictures, thanks to your requests.
The lamb pictures were somewhat difficult as I may have mentioned to some of you.
I actually am in the mood to spring clean. Well, maybe not the mood but I want a clean house. River is napping right now so maybe that's why I'm ready to get to work.
He's still wheezing and hacking around but he slept OK last night all things considered.
I'm making an avocado chicken dish for supper - I will probably have to do some grocery shopping soonish. :( Grocery shopping seems like such a chore sometimes.
My life is SO exciting! Isn't it?

Life is Good

Speaking of feeling melancholy...I was putting River to sleep the other day and I was feeling some depressing feelings. He deserves a better mother. In all honesty, he deserves a better father. At times anyway. I have no idea what I'm doing - will he survive my parenting with his sanity intact? The only real thing I have to console myself with is that there isn't a perfect woman out there to raise this little boy. And I read the other morning in the Gospels where Jesus said that He knows what we need. I took so much comfort from that verse - came at just the right moment.
I'm in this frame of mind right now where I remember reading something from a Chicken Soup for the Soul book about a valentine from a wife to a husband. She penned in her poem about how did he ever find the time? So true. In the midst of child rearing and working and all the other things we have to get done in a lifetime, it's a little hard to reserve a time for your marriage. We were listening to 102.5 the other day on the Song of Solomon and the speaker was saying that marriage was like any other thing that we do with purpose. We have to put effort into it to make it work. I've made a short story quite long - but this is exactly why I think that anyone under the age of 21 probably shouldn't want to get married. Probably shouldn't get married.
This weather is the pits. Maybe that's why I feel in a funk. Plus Jeremy doesn't feel that great and River probably doesn't either and I woke up this morning with a sore throat. Ready to see the sun!
Now is the time to apply the words of Sweet Rose: "remember nothing's quite as bad as it seems when you're so sad..." And cherish the time that River likes me to sing songs to him!

Riv Dog

Some things never change - hello, Danny Dinkle! I thought his little smirk made him kinda like his mother. :)
Yummy fresh rolls.
And could a kid be any cuter in little leg warmers? Even though I was thinking about a girl when I bought them...
Anyone else see the super cool slippers on Betsy Hany's blog? Kinda want a pair but I'm not sure I want to pay $65 for them.
Looking forward to a stay at the Fernwood Suite in Forrest tonight. And a catered meal at Karl & Bethany's.

I thought I should maybe post some pictures of the offspring for Jen's sake, if nothing else. He's reverting to his old (and bad) going to sleep habit as of late. He actually doesn't do too bad during the night but I just tell myself that it won't be that way forever. Might as well enjoy all the things that comes with having an almost 8 month old (!) while it is here.
Yesterday I gave him a wooden spoon to play with to keep him occupied for like 30 seconds and he was whacking it around on his high chair tray and intermittently would whack himself on the head. I could tell he didn't really like that but when he saw me watching him, he put on the most pitiful face and acted like it really hurt. It was hysterical.
Did anyone else read the Limbaugh Letter that had Julian Assange and Hillary Clinton on the back? I almost died laughing reading about the WikiWaif and the Arkansas Broadbeam going at it.
My house should probably get a Dutch cleaning here pretty soon. Except that I really don't feel like it - I feel like it in mind but physically I don't want to scrub and clean. Does that make sense?
I'm going to try to get some food made for Tami Aberle and Michelle Schaffer today.
And alas that it is like freezing outside. I really don't want to go to the turkey farm...
And I have 3 measly pictures to make a scrapbook page for Clint and LeAnne for Alexander the Great. He is going to owe me. :)

Remembrance

I was just thinking today about our trip to Oregon after Dad died. There was a man on the plane that helped out with the little kids. I think I remember him because he seemed like the type of guy to not normally like kids or be patient with them. And yet he was with us. I always supposed it was because he saw a single woman herding around 7 slightly abnormal kids (first flight for many) and could sense that we needed some kindness. I wish I could thank him.
