Last night I was reading my Parenting magazine and most of the articles made reference to how busy we are all the time and yet, each article talked about carving out more time for something. Take exercise for instance. One of the Parenting employees said that she was a single mother, working full time with a 2 1/2 hour commute. She wanted to spend more time with her 4 yr old son but ya know, she had to make some time to lose weight or tone up, whichever it was. It was insane.
So then today, Matti tells me that they're going to start building another farm at the beginning of the year, depending on the weather and when they can get started, and he'd like me to work 4 hours a day, and Riv would need to be left with a babysitter. Not sure how I feel about all this. I don't want to become one of those women who are so BUSY all the time that it's a feat just to spend time with my little guy. Decisions, decisions, decisions...
Why couldn't you take Riv?
ReplyDeleteDo you LIKE working at the turkey farm? Do you need the money? Can you gain more fulfillment by doing something else? If you answer these questions yes, no, yes, I would say that you wouldn't enjoy missing your River time.
ReplyDeleteRiver would probably be too distracting. Rightly so especially since he'd probably be crawling and whatnot at that age (starting next year).
ReplyDeleteWorking on a document for our gift schedule. :)
anyone want a sickly, whiny kid for the day? :) riv is not the most charming child right now. think i'm going to give him some medicine
ReplyDeletei will take him. whiny is better than nothing at all.
ReplyDeletetoo bad you aren't here right now. when are you heading out?
ReplyDeleteand i should note that since he's gotten some meds in his system he's been happier. sleepy (not surprising since he was up every 2 hours last night). met jeremy, rod, and jenna at dave's for lunch today. delicious deli meal.
ReplyDeleteoh rats, riv just woke up.
word, it's like i'm on something myself. i meant he got up every hour last night. he's pretty happy right now so the medicine must be doing something.
ReplyDeleteNeedy doesnt even begin to describe how riv has been today. i got him to sleep this am, put him down, and he woke up in like a minute and cried for 2 hrs. :(
ReplyDeleteah children. aren't you so glad you got married, and procreated?
ReplyDeletewell, seeing as how he is generally good natured and a thoroughly handsome little dude, i don't regret it. but i would recommend holding off having children until you are mature enough for the responsibility. parenting is not for the faint of heart and i've only just begun.
